We are a body run for students, by students, committed to promoting the interaction of young people from across the world in order to bring a fresh perspective on global issues and cultivate a new generation of world leaders.

UK DELEGATION MEETS FOR FIRST TIME - 25TH JANUARY 2009
8 of the 12 students selected to attend the 2009 G8 Youth Summit in Milan met today in central London to get to know one another and to start to organise themselves as a team. Each delegate is already getting to work on their area, and identifying issues for the upcoming agenda. SIMON FRASER JOINS SELECTION PANEL - 30TH SEPTEMBER 2008
The British Government's sous-sherpa for foreign affairs to the G8 has agreed to take a place on the Model G8 UK's selection panel. Simon Fraser, who is the Director General, Europe and Globalisation in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and a member of the FCO Board, will now be playing a part in selecting future delegates.
RECRUITMENT SELECTION PANEL ANNOUNCED - 15TH AUGUST 2008
The first three members of the selection panel for new G8 Youth Summit delegates representing the UK has been annoucned. So far, membership includes Lord Foulkes MSP (pictured), National Union of Students President Wes Streeting and Ruth Cameron, the co-ordinator of Stop Climate Chaos Scotland. MODEL G8 UK TEAM MEETS WITH FOREIGN OFFICE - 11th June 2008
Members of the British delegations to the 2007 and 2008 Model G8 Youth Summits have met with Paul Rennie at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office to discuss the work of Model G8 and how the FCO amd MG8UK can work together in planning and organising future summits. Both sides were keen to build a fruitful future relationship.
BRITISH PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN SUPPORTS MODEL G8 UK - 1st May 2008
In a personally signed letter, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has written to the Model G8 UK delegation showing his support for the project, which he describes as "highly commendable". He has also encourgaed us to meet with a Minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to discuss ways of developing the Model G8 Youth Summit.
